The Ciénaga the Zapata is the largest natural system humid soil region in Cuba and the largest of the Insular Caribbean. The Zapata Peninsula is located in the central-occidental area, due to the humidity fauna is abundant, the area has provided true ecological values over years of study.

The area is also populated by 1000's of migratory birds that fly to Cuba in order to find refuge from crude northern winters at the end of each year. The western area of the island is the largest of such reserves, which is also abundant with rivers and forests. Finally, the Sierra Maestra Mountain range, scene of one of the revolutions largest battles also hosts a beautiful mountain base flower bed.

You can find both ancient ferns and orchids in these areas. Waterfalls, swamps, diverse fauna while trekking or hiking around these immensely beautiful regions
